Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By creating a Plenishd account or by continuing to use the Plenishd mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not create an account and do not use the app.

These terms apply to your use of the Plenishd application and all related services ("the Service").


2. Description of Service

Plenishd is a voice-first smart kitchen inventory and shopping assistant for UK families. The Service allows you to:

  • Track items in your kitchen inventory using voice, barcode scanning, or manual entry
  • Set expiry date reminders and receive push notifications
  • Generate and manage shopping lists
  • Compare product prices across UK supermarkets
  • Discover and save recipes based on available ingredients
  • Manage a household account with multiple members

3. Your Account

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create a Plenishd account. If you are under 16, you may only use Plenishd under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf.

3.2 Account Creation

To create an account, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must notify us immediately at support@plenishd.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

3.3 Household Accounts

Plenishd is organised around households. When you create an account, you create or join a household. As the household creator, you are the household owner. You can invite others to join your household via a shareable invite code or QR code.

3.4 Multiple Members

A single household may have multiple members. Each member has their own profile within the household. Members can add, update, and remove inventory items and shopping list entries. Actions are attributed to the member who performed them.

3.5 Account Security

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Do not share your account credentials with anyone. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised use of your account.


4. Subscription Tiers and Payments

4.1 Free Tier

The Free tier is free to use and provides:

  • Up to 10 voice notes per month
  • Up to 5 photo scans per month
  • Up to 2 receipt scans per month
  • 1 shopping list
  • 1 storage zone
  • Up to 2 household members
  • Dietary filtering
  • Household sharing
  • Curated recipe browsing

4.2 Plus Tier

The Plus tier is a paid subscription (£1.99/month or £19.99/year, prices in GBP). It provides everything in Free plus:

  • Up to 75 voice notes per month
  • Up to 20 photo scans per month
  • Up to 5 receipt scans per month
  • Up to 3 shopping lists
  • Up to 5 storage zones
  • Unlimited household members
  • Multi-store price comparison (up to 6 stores)
  • Smart recipe generation (AI-powered)
  • Waste and spending detail

4.3 Pro Tier

The Pro tier is a paid subscription (£3.99/month or £39.99/year, prices in GBP). It provides everything in Plus plus:

  • Up to 150 voice notes per month
  • Up to 40 photo scans per month
  • Up to 20 receipt scans per month
  • Up to 25 shopping lists
  • Up to 15 storage zones
  • Unlimited household members
  • Trend analysis
  • AI tips and waste predictions
  • Price history tracking
  • "Hey Plenishd" wake word (on-device, opt-in)

4.4 7-Day Pro Trial

New users receive a 7-day free trial of the Pro tier. You are not charged during the trial period. Before the trial ends, you will be notified and can choose to subscribe or remain on the Free tier.

4.5 Auto-Renewal

All paid subscriptions (Plus and Pro) renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

4.6 Pricing

Subscription prices are displayed in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Prices are as follows:

We reserve the right to change pricing. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before any price change takes effect. Price changes apply at the next renewal date after the notice period.

4.7 Payment

Payments are processed by Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). The payment method, billing cycle, and transaction history are managed through your app store account. We do not store payment card details.

4.8 Cancellation

iOS (Apple App Store): To cancel a subscription, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions in the Apple ID settings app, or use the link in the app. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Android (Google Play Store): To cancel a subscription, go to Play Store → Manage Subscriptions, or use the link in the app. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

4.9 Upgrades and Downgrades

You may upgrade your subscription at any time. The change takes effect immediately and you are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current period. You may downgrade at the end of the current billing period.

4.10 Refunds

All refunds are governed by the refund policies of Apple App Store or Google Play Store, respectively. We do not process direct refunds. To request a refund, contact Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google (play.google.com/help) directly.

4.11 Restore Purchases

If you reinstall the app or get a new device, you can restore your subscription by tapping Restore Purchases in the subscription settings screen.


5. Gift Subscriptions

Plenishd offers gift subscriptions purchased through the app. Gift codes are 12 characters, expire 6 months from purchase, and may be redeemed by any Plenishd user. If the recipient already has an active Plus or Pro subscription, the gift extends the subscription by the gift duration. Gift purchases are non-refundable after 14 days from purchase.


6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Plenishd for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account or system
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to extract data from the app without our written permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app
  • Attempt to extract, copy, or reverse engineer the AI models or proprietary algorithms used in the Service
  • Use the Service in a way that interferes with its availability to other users
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent data
  • Upload viruses, malware, or any code harmful to the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.


7. Your Content and Data

7.1 Ownership

You own all data you create in Plenishd — your inventory items, shopping lists, voice notes, photo scans, recipes, and dietary profiles ("Your Content").

7.2 License to Process

You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to process Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This includes processing voice notes (for transcription), photos (for item recognition), and recipes (for smart suggestions).

7.3 Curated and AI-Generated Content

  • Curated recipes are owned by us or their respective authors and are provided under their respective licenses.
  • AI-generated recipes are generated by Anthropic's Claude AI based on your input. You own recipes you save. We do not claim any rights to AI-generated recipes you create or save.
  • Community recipes shared by users are owned by the user who shared them.

7.4 Aggregated Data

We may use anonymised, aggregated data derived from Your Content for product improvement, insights, and analytics. This data cannot identify you.


8. Voice Notes and Photos

8.1 Consent

By using the voice input or photo capture features, you consent to your voice notes and photos being processed by our AI service providers (Anthropic Claude and Deepgram) for the sole purpose of providing transcription and item recognition services.

8.2 Data Handling

  • Voice notes are transcribed and the audio is discarded after processing.
  • Photos are analysed and stored as specified in our Privacy Policy.
  • Voice transcripts and confirmed photo scan results are stored in your account.

8.3 AI Accuracy

AI outputs (voice transcriptions, photo recognition results, recipe suggestions) may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not reflect recent information. You should verify AI-generated content before relying on it. We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content without independent verification.


9. Price Comparison

Price comparison data is sourced from publicly available supermarket websites and third-party scrapers. Prices are indicative only and may not reflect current in-store prices. We do not guarantee the accuracy or availability of any price data. Always verify prices at the supermarket before purchasing. We are not responsible for discrepancies between displayed and in-store prices.


10. Third-Party Services

Plenishd uses third-party services as described in our Privacy Policy, including Convex (backend), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Anthropic (AI), Deepgram (speech-to-text), and Open Food Facts (product database). These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any third-party service provider.

10.1 Open Food Facts

Product information sourced from Open Food Facts is made available under the Open Database License. Open Food Facts contributors are credited for their work.


11. Intellectual Property

11.1 Our Property

The Plenishd name, logo, app design, and all content we produce (excluding Your Content and third-party content) are our intellectual property. You may not use our trademarks without written permission.

11.2 Your Property

You retain all rights to Your Content.

11.3 Trademarks

All product names, logos, and brands mentioned in price comparison data are the trademarks of their respective owners. Use of such trademarks in the app does not imply endorsement.


12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE
  • AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR RELIABLE
  • PRICE DATA WILL BE CURRENT OR ACCURATE
  • ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED

YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE DISCLAIMER OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO THE ABOVE DISCLAIMER MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.


13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
  • LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS REPUTATION
  • ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE
  • ANY CONTENT OBTAINED THROUGH THE SERVICE

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR £100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.


14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold us harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your violation of these Terms of Service
  • Your misuse of the Service
  • Your violation of any third-party rights (including intellectual property, privacy, or data protection rights)
  • Any fraudulent or unlawful activity conducted under your account

15. Termination

15.1 By You

You may stop using the app at any time. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion takes effect immediately and triggers the deletion of your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

15.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if:

  • You materially breach these Terms of Service
  • Your account is used for unlawful activity
  • We reasonably believe your account poses a security risk

15.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We are not obligated to provide access to any data after termination, except as required by law.


16. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Provide in-app notice or email notification for significant changes
  • Give you at least 30 days' notice before material changes take effect

Your continued use of the app after the notice period constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.


17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

17.1 Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

17.2 Courts

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

17.3 Alternative Dispute Resolution

Before commencing formal proceedings, you agree to contact us at support@plenishd.co.uk to attempt to resolve any dispute informally. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may proceed to formal resolution.


18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.


19. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
